Day 4 - Travel Day…Flying to the South Island

Not planes, trains, and automobiles…. just planes, planes, and planes!
Because our first flight of the day was delayed, our 2 flight, half-day travel day from one island to another turned into a 3 flight, all day travel day from the North Island (Rotorua) to the South Island (Christchurch), back to the North Island (Auckland) and then back again to the South Island (Queenstown).
In the midst of all this, the tour planned for tomorrow called us to cancel because it’s supposed to rain all day (and the tour was a 4WD scenic drive with a 4 hour hike including a picnic lunch). So our local travel agent started trying to rearrange things, but alas, it was not possible. So we are staying the night in Queenstown and will have a leisurely day tomorrow before making our way up to Wanaka in the afternoon.

Airport #4 - Queenstown - No photo…We were too tired and cranky by then!
But we did see Mt. Ruahehu out of the window as we flew north to Auckland which was lovely!
